About the Role
We are seeking an experienced A Grade Electrician with experience in the commercial sector to join our team across commercial projects throughout Melbourne. This is a full-time position responsible for the installation, maintenance, testing, commissioning, and fault-finding of electrical systems in commercial environments, including switchboards, data cabling, and intelligent lighting control systems.
Key Duties
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
(a) completing commercial electrical installations, maintenance, and upgrade works;
(b) coordinating and carrying out rough-ins and fit-offs across commercial projects;
(c) installing, terminating, and testing lighting, power, data, and control systems;
(d) performing switchboard installation, upgrades, and maintenance;
(e) installing and terminating CAT6 and CAT6A cabling systems;
(f) programming and working with lighting control systems including C-Bus, Dynalite, and KNX;
(g) reading and interpreting electrical plans, schematics, and wiring diagrams;
(h) performing testing, fault-finding, and commissioning of electrical systems; and
(i) ensuring all work complies with Australian Standards and OH&S requirements.
Skills and Experience Required
To be considered, you will need to demonstrate:
(a) a current Victorian A-Grade Electrical Licence or a recognised unrestricted equivalent;
(b) demonstrated experience within the commercial electrical sector;
(c) competency in rough-ins, fit-offs, and switchboard work;
(d) experience with lighting control systems including C-Bus, Dynalite, and KNX;
(e) CAT6 and CAT6A cabling experience;
(f) ability to read and interpret electrical plans, schematics, and wiring diagrams; and
(g) a current White Card and Driver's Licence.
Qualifications
A Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician (or equivalent AQF qualification) with relevant on-the-job training, or demonstrated equivalent experience, is required.
Licences and Certifications
Required:
(a) Victorian A-Grade Electrical Licence or a recognised unrestricted equivalent electrical licence;
(b) current White Card; and
(c) current Driver's Licence.
The following are advantageous but not essential:
(a) EWP Licence;
(b) Working at Heights certification;
(c) First Aid Certificate;
(d) Police Check; and
(e) Working with Children's Check.
