About the Role

Due to organisational restructuring and strategic growth initiatives, an exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and hands-on Academic & Campus Operations Manager to lead both academic compliance and campus operations functions.

This is a key leadership position responsible for ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, trainer and assessor management, student experience, and overall campus performance.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and Board, the successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining ASQA, CRICOS and ESOS compliance while supporting sustainable business operations.

Key Responsibilities

Academic Leadership & Compliance

  • Manage and maintain compliance with ASQA Standards for RTOs, ESOS Act, National Code and CRICOS requirements.

  • Oversee training and assessment strategies, validation activities, assessment moderation and continuous improvement processes.

  • Monitor trainer and assessor compliance, qualifications, industry currency and professional development requirements.

  • Lead internal audits, compliance reviews and regulatory reporting activities.

  • Maintain training and assessment resources, policies, procedures and academic governance systems.

  • Coordinate preparation for ASQA audits and regulatory inspections.

  • Manage student academic progression, intervention strategies and appeals processes.

Campus Operations & Student Services

  • Oversee day-to-day campus operations and administration functions.

  • Ensure smooth student onboarding, orientation, enrolment and support services.

  • Monitor attendance, course progression and student engagement requirements.

  • Coordinate timetabling, classroom utilisation and operational resources.

  • Manage student records and reporting through relevant student management systems.

  • Support student welfare initiatives and maintain a positive learning environment.

Trainer & Staff Management

  • Recruit, onboard and supervise trainers and assessors.

  • Conduct performance reviews and support staff development.

  • Manage trainer scheduling and resource allocation.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, compliance and student-centred service.

Stakeholder Management

  • Liaise with education agents, industry partners and external stakeholders as required.

  • Support business development initiatives through quality student experience and compliance excellence.

  • Work closely with the CEO to achieve strategic and operational objectives.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

Essential

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a senior academic, compliance or campus management role within a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) or CRICOS provider.

  • Strong understanding of:

    • Standards for RTOs 2025 (or current applicable standards)

    • ESOS Act

    • National Code

    • CRICOS compliance requirements

    • AQF framework

  • Demonstrated experience managing ASQA audits and compliance frameworks.

  • Experience supervising trainers, assessors and administrative staff.

  • Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.

Desirable

  • TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or successor qualification).

  • Diploma or higher qualification in Education, Business, Management or related field.

  • Experience working with international students.

  • Knowledge of student management systems and PRISMS reporting requirements.
