A rare opportunity with Oakey Beef Exports is available within our Finance team, providing an excellent opportunity someone who is looking to grow their accounting experience while working in a supporting and collaborative environment.

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant / Accounts Payable Officer to join our finance team.

Key Responsibilities

• Process Accounts Payable invoices in line with company policies and procedures

• Manage vendor setup and maintain accurate supplier records

• Prepare and process weekly batch payments

• Perform regular bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies

• Reconcile and maintain accurate records for petty cash

• Reconcile and monitor corporate card transactions

• Assist with accounting tasks including posting journals and preparing journal entries

• Maintain accurate and organised filing of financial records and documentation

• Support the Finance Manager with various accounting functions and reporting requirements

• Assist in reviewing and improving Accounts Payable processes, supporting end-to-end workflow from invoice entry through to payment

• Ensure accuracy and timeliness in all financial transactions

About You

• Previous experience in an Accounts Payable or Assistant Accountant role (preferred)

• Minimum of 6-12 months experience in accounts payable or assistant accountant role

• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills

• Basic understanding of accounting principles

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

• Good communication skills and a proactive attitude

• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel (desirable)

• Must have Australian work rights
