Join the team at one of the leading public health organisations in Australia!
About the Role
You will be working at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH). It is one of the nation’s most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history of serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities. Our facilities and services are world class and our staff are dedicated, innovative and caring.
The RPAH Stroke Clinic is a highly regarded provider of stroke and neurovascular outpatient services. The Stroke Clinic is run by a dedicated team of supportive Health and Admin professionals with an emphasis on delivering quality patient care, consistently. It is located within the RPA Neurosciences clinic, the largest and busiest neurosciences public outpatient clinic in the country. Whilst the RPA Stroke Clinic will be the anchor clinic, you will be required to cover other neuro clinics as required. Flexibility, and a willingness to support another clinic at a moment’s notice utilising Admin skills and gain knowledge across the wider Neurosciences clinics will be needed.
The Neurosciences Team is a lean resourced, high functioning outpatients clinic set in the country’s leading public hospital. This position is not for the faint hearted. We are seeking to complement our team of admin professionals and a supportive and professional workplace culture with a calm, collected and mature minded thinker who can maintain a sense of humour under pressure and tight deadlines, can carry a smile in difficult situations, with demanding clinicians and calmly resolve difficult conversations.
The individual we are seeking must be comfortable with change and variety in administration tasks, that can change in a moment’s notice. They must be comfortable in dealing with competing deadlines issued by clinicians and the Business, building workplace relationships based on trust, precision and reliance. Comfortable jumping in, out, and across clinics at short notice, be aware of their workplace and patient safety, brings a passion and appreciation of the importance of end-to-end accuracy of processes, patient management and care of their data. Experience in a fast-paced hospital administration environment will be a distinct advantage in support of the character attributes mentioned above.
A sophisticated use of Microsoft Office is a must, with familiarity of hospital booking and billing systems preferred. A willingness to learn, to do what has to be done, a lean to detail and a natural contributor to a sophisticated workplace culture, and an ability to maintain a sense of humour and stamina will be the keys to your success in this role.
We are swift, thoughtful, and caring to patients, our clinicians our staff and ourselves. We take pride in our work and in taking care of each other.
