BN Family Bakery Pty Ltd T/A Wudinna Bakery is seeking a Baker/Pastrycook to join our team in Wudinna, South Australia. This is a permanent full-time position, offering an opportunity to work in a well-established bakery that takes pride in delivering high-quality baked goods to our customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing a variety of baked products while maintaining high food safety and hygiene standards.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Prepare and bake a wide variety of breads, pastries, and other baked goods, and garnish them, ensuring consistent quality and presentation.
- Prepares dough or batter by mixing ingredients and following recipes and production schedules to maintain consistency.
- Operate and maintain baking equipment and machinery, ensuring safety and efficiency during use.
- Monitor the quality of baked goods at all stages, from preparation to final presentation, meeting customer expectations and standards.
- Plan and develop innovative bakery menus, incorporating diverse and creative ideas to attract and retain customers.
- Manage food supply orders and inventory, ensuring timely availability of ingredients and minimizing waste.
- Train and mentor bakery staff, demonstrating baking techniques and sharing expertise to improve team performance.
- Estimate ingredient and labor costs to maintain cost-effective operations while ensuring high-quality output.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the bakery and work area, adhering strictly to hygiene and food safety regulations.
- Collaborate with managers and staff to address food preparation and service concerns, ensuring smooth daily operations.
- Planning and managing staff rosters to ensure adequate coverage and efficiency.
- Stay updated with industry trends and new baking techniques, incorporating them to enhance product offerings and maintain competitiveness.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Certificate III qualification or higher in a relevant field.
- Minimum of 1 year of professional experience in a commercial bakery environment.
- Strong knowledge and competency in baking techniques
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and product consistency.
- Excellent teamwork, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and public holidays, as required.
