Barista: 

  • Crafted and presented a wide range of beverages including alcoholic drinks, mocktails, specialty coffees, and espresso-based drinks such as flat whites, cappuccinos, and lattes
  • Operated and sanitised coffee equipment, espresso machines, and beverage preparation stations to ensure cleanliness and efficiency
  • Processed customer transactions accurately using POS systems and cash handling procedures
  • Assisted in recommending menu items, beverages, and promotional products to customers
  • Maintained bar and café presentation by polishing glassware, organising stock, and arranging beverage displays
  • Managed keg systems by connecting beer lines and monitoring supply levels
  • Restocked fridges, shelves, dispensers, and service areas to maintain adequate inventory levels
  • Prepared and sold light food items and snacks alongside beverage service
  • Measured, selected, and ground coffee beans to produce high-quality espresso and hot drinks

Chef:

  • Designing and updating breakfast, brunch, dessert, and café-style menus to suit customer preferences and seasonal demand

  • Supervising food preparation and ensuring meals are consistently presented to a high standard before service
  • Liaising with management and front-of-house staff regarding menu planning, special dietary requests, and daily kitchen operations

  • Preparing and cooking a variety of menu items including pancakes, crepes, waffles, breakfast meals, savoury dishes, and desserts

  • Assisting with staff supervision, onboarding, and kitchen workflow coordination during busy service periods
  • Monitoring food storage procedures, including refrigeration, freezing, and preservation of ingredients to maintain freshness and quality

Task & responsibilities

Barista: 

  • Preparing and serving a wide selection of beverages, including cocktails, mocktails, beer, wine, and specialty coffee drinks
  • Operating espresso machines and preparing high-quality coffee and other hot beverages for customers
  • Delivering friendly and efficient customer service while taking orders and handling enquiries
  • Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards across bar, café, and service areas
  • Handling cash, EFTPOS transactions, and operating point-of-sale systems accurately
  • Restocking refrigerators, shelves, and beverage supplies to ensure smooth daily operations
  • Monitoring stock levels and assisting with inventory control and ordering supplies
  • Cleaning and polishing glassware, utensils, coffee equipment, and bar tools
  • Promoting menu items, beverages, and special offers to customers
  • Assisting with the preparation and sale of light meals and snacks
  • Ensuring compliance with food safety, liquor licensing, and workplace health and safety regulations
  • Supporting team members to maintain efficient service during busy periods

Chef:

  • Preparing and cooking a wide variety of breakfast, brunch, dessert, and café-style meals in accordance with menu standards
  • Assisting with menu development and seasonal food planning to enhance customer dining experience
  • Monitoring food quality, portion control, and presentation to maintain consistency across all dishes
  • Managing kitchen stock levels, ordering ingredients, and minimising food wastage
  • Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety regulations
  • Coordinating with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth and efficient service
  • Training and supporting junior kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and kitchen procedures
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of kitchen equipment, workstations, and storage areas
  • Handling food storage, refrigeration, and stock rotation to preserve freshness and quality
  • Assisting with daily kitchen operations in a fast-paced hospitality environment while maintaining high service standards

Qualification & experience

Barista: 

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Barista or in a hospitality-related role within a busy café or restaurant environment
  • Proven experience preparing espresso-based coffee, hot beverages, and other café drinks to a high standard
  • Strong customer service and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining excellent quality and service standards
  • Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and responsible service practices
  • Experience using POS systems and handling cash and EFTPOS transactions accurately
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks during busy service periods
  • Reliable, organised, and professionally presented with strong attention to detail
  • Flexible availability, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays where required

Chef:

  • At least 1 year of hands-on experience working as a Chef or Cook in a high-volume café, restaurant, or commercial kitchen
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and present a variety of breakfast, brunch, and café-style dishes with consistency and quality
  • Strong understanding of kitchen operations, food preparation techniques, and plating standards
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining efficiency, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Sound knowledge of food handling, sanitation, and workplace health and safety requirements
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth daily operations
  • Skilled in managing multiple orders and prioritising tasks during peak service periods
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain a professional attitude in a team-oriented environment
  • Flexible to work rotating rosters, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays as required
