We are seeking a motivated and physically fit Beef Cattle Farm Worker to assist with the full range of daily cattle husbandry, pasture management and general farm maintenance duties across their Karridale property.

Annual Salary: $69k + Superannuation.

Task & responsibilities

Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:

• Mustering and relocating cattle across the property to utilise available feed and to facilitate routine herd management activities 
• Patrolling paddocks and yards on a regular basis to evaluate the condition of beef cattle, flagging any health or welfare concerns to the farm manager 
• Delivering daily feed and water supplies to cattle and supporting the implementation of herd nutrition and welfare programs
• Developing and tending pastures to sustain productive grazing conditions for beef cattle throughout the year 
• Supporting calving operations including attending births, nurturing newborn calves and tracking the wellbeing of cows and calves in the post-birth period 
• Performing hands-on husbandry tasks including calf processing, hoof trimming and general livestock health maintenance 
• Constructing and maintaining boundary and internal fencing, cattle handling facilities and other farm infrastructure 
• Monitoring and maintaining water troughs, tanks and irrigation infrastructure to ensure reliable supply across the property 
• Setting up and replenishing cattle feed supplies, bedding materials and livestock handling gear as required 
• Driving and servicing farm vehicles, tractors and equipment used in the day-to-day running of the cattle operation 
• Capturing and entering production data, animal treatment records and daily farm activities into farm management and digital reporting systems

Qualification & experience

Minimum qualification requirement: Compulsory secondary education (completed). At least one year of relevant full-time work experience in the last 5 years may substitute for the formal qualifications.

Work experience requirement: The successful applicant will have at least 1 year of highly relevant full-time work experience in the last 5 years, undertaken in Australia. If the applicant has not undertaken the 1-year work experience in Australia, they must have 2 years of work experience.
