Boilermaker – Structural Steel Fabrication

Join a growing team of skilled tradespeople working on a variety of structural steel projects across Melbourne. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Boilermaker looking for ongoing work in a well-equipped workshop environment, with the chance to operate a range of machinery and collaborate with a highly experienced team.

Pay Rate: $58 per hour + 15% afternoon shift loading, (please note two weeks are day shift for training.)


Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret technical and workshop drawings
• Fabricate, assemble, and weld structural steel components
• Operate workshop machinery including:
• Overhead cranes
•  Forklifts
• Band saws
• Punch machines
• Other fabrication equipment as required
• Conduct risk assessments and follow workplace safety procedures
• Maintain quality workmanship while meeting production deadlines

Skills & Experience

• Trade-qualified Boilermaker (or equivalent qualification)
• Proven experience in structural steel fabrication and welding
• Experience operating fabrication machinery and workshop equipment
• Ability to accurately read and interpret technical drawings
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
• Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced production environment
• Own reliable transport and PPE, including welding gear
