The Role

We are seeking experienced Fabricators / Fitter-Welders to join our workshop teams across Mordialloc and Dandenong South.

This role will involve structural and pipe fabrication across both manual and semi-automated systems. You will work on a variety of commercial construction projects and gain exposure to advanced fabrication equipment, including robotic welding and CNC plasma cutting technology.

There are genuine opportunities for progression within the business. Leading Hand and Foreman positions may become available for team members who demonstrate strong technical ability, leadership qualities, reliability, and a commitment to quality and safety.

Day shift and afternoon shift positions are available.
Significant overtime is available for those looking to maximise their earnings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fit, align, and assemble structural and pipe components using clamps, jigs, and fixtures

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, workshop drawings, and fabrication specifications

  • Measure, mark, cut, and prepare materials for welding and fabrication

  • Perform structural and pipe fabrication to the required standards

  • Operate or assist with CNC plasma cutting equipment

  • Assist with basic equipment setup and troubleshooting

  • Perform welding using:

    • MIG / GMAW

    • TIG / GTAW

    • FCAW

  • Assist with the setup, monitoring, and operation of robotic pipe welding equipment

  • Complete weld finishing, including grinding, dressing, and clean-up

  • Carry out in-process checks and final quality inspections

  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment

  • Work collaboratively with supervisors, leading hands, and other tradespeople

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • 2–3+ years of fabrication and welding experience

  • Strong structural steel and/or pipe fabrication experience

  • Competency in MIG and TIG welding

  • Experience with FCAW highly regarded

  • Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings

  • High attention to detail and strong quality standards

  • A reliable, team-focused, and safety-conscious attitude

  • The ability to work efficiently in a workshop environment

  • Experience operating CNC plasma cutting equipment highly regarded

  • Welding certifications to Australian Standards highly regarded

  • Experience with robotic welding systems advantageous, but not essential — training will be provided

Requirements

  • Full-time availability, Monday to Friday

  • Willingness to work overtime as required

  • Valid Australian working rights
