RAKKAR BRICKLAYING PTY LTD is seeking an experienced and reliable Bricklayer to join our growing team in Melton VIC. The successful candidate will work on residential and commercial projects, delivering high-quality brick and masonry work in accordance with plans and specifications.

This is a full-time position suited to a motivated tradesperson who takes pride in workmanship and safety compliance.

Task & responsibilities

• Studying plans and specifications to determine materials required, dimensions and installation procedures
• Erecting and dismantling restricted height scaffolding
• Sealing foundations with damp-resistant materials
• Spreading mortar to serve as base and binder for bricks and blocks
• Laying bricks in rows, patterns and designs
• Embedding blocks in mortar and removing excess mortar
• Checking vertical and horizontal alignment using levels and plumb lines
• Cutting, shaping and polishing bricks and stones using hand and power tools
• Shaping bricks to fit irregular spaces
• Repairing and maintaining brickwork, cement blocks and related structures
• Leveling and straightening corners, angles, wall, and ceiling
• Working effectively with others
• Preparing base and bedding courses and laying segmental paving
• Ensuring compliance with WHS and safety regulations

Qualification & experience

• AQF Certificate III in Bricklaying and Blocklaying
• At least one year of relevant work experience may substitute for formal qualifications
• Strong understanding of construction plans and building codes
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Physically fit and capable of manual labour
• Driver’s licence preferred
