The Role

This role is ideal for a technically minded professional with strong construction knowledge and attention to detail. The successful candidate will work across multiple project sites, ensuring all tiling, screeding, and waterproofing works are carried out in accordance with Australian Standards, NCC/BCA requirements, project specifications, and quality assurance procedures.

You will work closely with the Director, Site Supervisors, subcontractors, suppliers, and engineers to maintain high construction and compliance standards across all stages of the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

- Reviewing and verifying material specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements, scope of works, and relevant Australian Standards.

- Interpreting engineering drawings and project documentation, including marking up areas requiring waterproofing, screeding, and tiling prior to construction.

- Confirming drawings and technical details comply with Australian Standards and project specifications.

- Preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and performing cost estimations by analysing project drawings, specifications, and scope requirements.

- Procuring and coordinating relevant materials specified for individual projects.

- Conducting on-site inspections and implementing Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) across multiple construction stages

- Verifying compliance with critical technical requirements.

- Conducting detailed inspection checks for tile installation.

- Identifying technical issues during inspections and assisting in implementing corrective actions to maintain quality standards.

- Ensuring compliance with Australian construction standards, including NCC/BCA requirements and project specifications.

- Preparing technical reports, inspection records, and photographic documentation using digital systems such as FieldView and Procore.

- Coordinating with project stakeholders to ensure alignment with technical and construction requirements.

- Assisting in material selection, resource planning, and technical coordination across various project stages.

Requirements

- Relevant qualification in Engineering Technology, Construction, Building, or related field.

- Experience within the construction industry, particularly tiling, waterproofing, screeding, or finishing trades, is highly regarded.

- Ability to interpret construction drawings and technical documentation.

- Strong understanding of Australian construction standards and quality control procedures.

- Experience using digital inspection/reporting systems such as FieldView or Procore is advantageous.

- Strong communication and organisational skills.

- Ability to travel between project sites across Sydney.

- White Card and valid Australian driver licence required.
