We have an opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join the team to externally drive meaningful sales through events across the business.

Reporting into the Head of Reservations & Revenue, and based in Head Office (The Rocks, Sydney), this role will be instrumental in fostering relationships with repeat clients and creating new relationships whilst offering end to end support to execute the perfect event.

Task & responsibilities

  • Proactively drive event sales revenue through external business development activities, including networking, industry events, forums and client outreach
  • Build, maintain and grow strong relationships with repeat clients while identifying and converting new business opportunities across the venue portfolio
  • Manage the end-to-end event sales process, from initial enquiry and site inspections through to contracting, planning and final execution
  • Collaborate closely with venue operations, reservations and kitchen teams to deliver tailored event solutions and exceptional guest experiences
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans aligned with event revenue targets and KPIs, providing regular reporting and insights to leadership

Qualification & experience

  • Previous experience in Business Development within the hospitality industry
  • Strong knowledge of food & beverage, with the ability to collaborate effectively with operational and kitchen teams to create tailored menus
  • Proven experience planning and delivering large-scale events with a focus on exceptional guest experiences
  • A passion for client relationships including conducting site inspections and venue tours
  • The capability to develop and implement strategic sales plans to meet event revenue KPIs
  • A track record of increasing event numbers and cultivating new client relationships
  • Experience using Seven Rooms for managing client information and generating insights for the Executive Committee
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills to represent our brand at forums and conventions
  • Flexibility for working outside traditional hours, including weekends for major events
