The Responsibilities:

• Reading and interpreting construction drawings, plans and specifications to determine materials, measurements and installation requirements
• Measuring, cutting and assembling timber and other building materials for structural and framing work
• Constructing and installing timber wall frames, roof frames, floor systems and structural supports
• Laying sub-flooring, floorboards and verifying the alignment and stability of structures
• Installing doors, windows, wall cladding, fascia panels and external timber fittings
• Erecting timber frameworks and panelised systems for residential and commercial construction projects
• Using hand tools, power tools and woodworking machinery safely and efficiently on-site
• Repairing and maintaining timber structures, fittings and frameworks where required
• Constructing timber formwork for concrete works when necessary
• Ensuring all carpentry work complies with workplace safety standards, project specifications and quality requirements
• Working collaboratively with supervisors, builders and other trades to complete projects within required timeframes

Qualification and Experience

• Relevant qualification such as Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent trade qualification
• Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience in carpentry,
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good understanding of workplace health and safety practices
• Valid driver licence preferred but not essential
