Task & responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all kitchen operations on a day-to-day basis
- Prepare and present high-quality pub-style meals
- Plan and cost menus, ensuring profitability and efficiency
- Manage stock control, ordering, and budgeting
- Lead, train, and mentor kitchen staff
- Create rosters and ensure kitchen staff meet service targets
- Maintain food safety, hygiene standards, and a clean, organised kitchen
- Work closely with the pub management team to maintain consistency and quality
Qualification & experience
- Relevant qualifications plus at least 1 year of experience OR at least 3 years' experience as a Chef
- Strong leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage kitchen operations
- Previous experience in pub or hotel kitchen environments is highly regarded
- Experience with food costing, menu planning, and stock control
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP, etc.)
- Reliable, motivated, and a team-focused approach to leadership
