Task & responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a range of meals/dishes according to an a la carte menu using a range of skills and techniques
- Fulfils their part to ensure consistency at all stages of preparation, presentation and portion control
- Monitor stock levels and assist in ordering and inventory
- Have input into the planning of menus and cooking procedures
- Keep a clean, organised and compliant kitchen environment
- Positively communicate with the kitchen and food and beverage teams to ensure smooth service
- Maintain the highest standards of workplace safety.
Qualification & experience
- Minimum of 12 months' experience in a commercial kitchen (pub/hotel experience preferred)
- Certificate III, IV and Diploma in Hospitality
- Solid understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
- Ability to work well in a team and under pressure
- The position involves working shift work including nights, weekends and split shifts
- Reliability, time management, and a passion for good food are essential
