The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high‑quality dishes, supporting kitchen operations, maintaining service standards, and contributing to the restaurant's overall success.

This role is suited to an individual with strong culinary skills who thrives in a busy, customer‑centric environment. The Chef will work closely with senior kitchen leadership to deliver consistent food quality and uphold the hospitality standards.

Task & responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with established recipes and standards 
  • Ensure consistency in food quality, plate presentation, and portion control 
  • Assist in the preparation and execution of daily specials, seasonal menus, and high‑volume service periods 
  • Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety compliance in the kitchen 
  • Monitor and manage stock rotation, storage, and food preparation areas 
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure efficient service delivery  
  • Assist in training, guiding, and mentoring junior kitchen staff 
  • Maintain kitchen equipment and report faults or maintenance needs promptly 
  • Adhere to workplace health and safety practices at all times 

Qualification & experience

  • Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent qualification) 
  • Previous experience in a commercial kitchen environment 
  • Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a professional kitchen 
  • Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene practices, and kitchen procedures 
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and maintain consistency under pressure 
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills 
  • Experience with menu preparation and stock control
