Task & responsibilities

Responsibilities

•    Plan, organise, and oversee the preparation and cooking of food at The Boatdeck Cafe, ensuring high-quality meals, efficient kitchen operations, and compliance with food safety standards.

Duties

•    Prepare and cook a variety of menu items to a high standard

•    Assist in menu planning and creating daily specials

•    Monitor food quality, presentation, cooking times, and portion control

•    Supervise and support kitchen staff in daily operations

•    Train junior kitchen staff on food preparation and cooking procedures

•    Coordinate with management and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service

•    Operate commercial kitchen equipment safely and efficiently

•    Manage stock control, ordering, and inventory levels

•    Maintain cleanliness and ensure compliance with food safety and workplace health and safety regulations

Qualification & experience

Qualifications

•    AQF Associate Degree

•    Advanced Diploma or Diploma

Experience

•    At least three years of relevant experience.
