You will be preparing, cooking and presenting a wide variety of nutritious foods on time that are suitable for children aged 4months to 6 years for breakfast, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea, including the preparation of purees and special dietary and cultural meals

This is a maternity leave position with 37.5 hours a week, working Monday to Friday

About the role 

• Engage in menu planning, in accordance with the centre's nutrition policy and guidelines, including catering for children with allergy, intolerance and religious requirements; 

• Working in line with budgets and local suppliers

• You will maintain a clean and safe kitchen, in accordance with Food and Council Authority requirements

• Excellent time management skills and be confident in managing a kitchen

• Provide a barista service to families (on the job training will be provided if necessary)

• You will enjoy working with families, colleagues and children

A little about you

• Previous experience as a chef in an educational (school or early childhood) or aged care setting (highly regarded).

• Current blue card or willingness to obtain

• Full work rights in Australia

• Ability to follow directions, policies and procedures.

• Ability to work autonomously and have a strong Work Health and Safety focus.

• A flexible approach and attitude with excellent communication skills.
