My Accounting Advantage is a boutique accounting firm based in Kincumber, built entirely on referrals and reputation. Our clients are business owners and property investors who trust us with important financial decisions, and they stay because we make them feel known, not just serviced.
We’re looking for a Client Relationship Manager to become the heartbeat of that experience.
This is not your typical accounting role
You’re not here to sit behind the numbers all day.
You’re the bridge between clients and our technical team:
Translating complex accounting and tax concepts into plain English
Handling client conversations with confidence and warmth
Triage requests quickly and accurately
Holding the relationship while our team delivers the technical work
You’ll still use your accounting knowledge, but your real value is how you connect, communicate, and lead the client experience.
The outcome you own
Every client feels known, cared for, and confident their needs are being handled without Mai being involved.
What you’ll be responsible for
Being the first point of contact for client communication (phone + email)
Handling everyday Xero, bookkeeping, and BAS-related queries
Explaining financials, reports, and tax concepts in plain English
Managing billing queries and expectations professionally
Triaging more complex technical matters to the right team member
Supporting onboarding so new clients feel looked after from day one
Maintaining clear communication, follow-ups, and internal notes
What you’ll bring
We are specifically looking for someone who:
Has minimum 3+ years' experience in public practice accounting
Ideally CA or CPA qualified (or progressing)
Has solid experience with Xero and bookkeeping processes
Has prepared financial statements and tax returns across multiple entities
Has strong accounting and tax knowledge
But just as importantly…
You’re someone who:
Prefers working with people over working in isolation
Communicates clearly without jargon
Can handle stressed or confused clients calmly and professionally
Knows how to set boundaries without damaging relationships
Takes pride in making clients feel comfortable, not overwhelmed
This role is not suited to someone who prefers to sit behind the scenes. It’s for someone who wants to be front-facing and impactful.
