Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience.
Approved post graduate nursing qualifications in a field relevant to the specialty field or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the organisation.
Demonstrated evidence of strategies used to maintain current knowledge of clinical practice advances and research in the specialty area of communicable diseases.
Demonstrated ability to apply expert knowledge to provide safe compassionate quality care and advice that is culturally responsive to key stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with a range of key stakeholders and a multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness and flexibility to service provision to meet community needs.
Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and personally resolve conflicts when they arise.
Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the delivery of advanced evidenced based nursing care focused on communicable diseases.
Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace.
Proven ability to consult, review, and develop, both new and existing policies and procedures within the relevant specialty of communicable diseases.
Demonstrated ability to lead and undertake communicable disease surveillance, investigations and response.
