Tasks and Responsibilities:
Education and Training Planning:
- Assess education needs of clinical staff (RNs, ENs, AINs, allied staff) through surveys, audits, performance reviews, and management feedback
- Develop and maintain an annual clinical education calendar including orientation days, compulsory training, refresher courses, competency assessments
- Design curricula, learning materials, blended delivery modes (face-to-face, online, role plays and workshops).
Delivery of Training:
- Deliver and/or facilitate engaging, interactive and evidence-based education sessions
- Provide blended learning experiences through multiple formats, including face-to-face sessions, online, workshops, hands-on demonstrations, role plays, eLearning modules, toolbox talks, and on-the-job coaching
- Align training with Aged Care Quality Standards, legislative/regulatory requirements and St Basil's policies and procedures.
Orientation and Induction:
- Deliver onboarding and induction programs ensuring timely completion for new starters
- Ensure induction content reflects role-specific requirements and compliance obligations.
Quality Improvement & Clinical Governance:
- Identify gaps in practice, incidents or near misses, feed into clinical governance
- Lead or contribute to quality improvement projects related to staff clinical practice
- Review, update policies, procedures and guidelines in line with current evidence.
Monitoring and Evaluation:
- Evaluate effectiveness of education programs (content, delivery, outcomes)
- Collect feedback, monitor learning outcomes, follow up on practice change
- Report on training, compliance and competencies to leadership.
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
- Strong knowledge of Aged Care Quality Standards, regulatory, regulation frameworks
- Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration
- Clinical Aged Care Experience 3-5 years
- Qualifications in education/training (e.g. Certificate IV Workplace Training & Assessment, TAFE or tertiary level)
- Analytical abilities such as monitoring, auditing, and evaluating performance and compliance
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
