Do you want to share your love of trees with the community by leading a team that grows thousands of native plants each year?
ABOUT TRILLION TREES
Trillion Trees Australia is a for-purpose organisation dedicated to healing landscapes and connecting communities through our love of trees. We share a vision for a world in which all people recognise the value of trees. For over 45 years, with the help of thousands of volunteers, Trillion Trees Australia (formerly Men of the Trees) has planted close to 16 million native trees and understory across Perth and the Wheatbelt.
Our community nursery is proudly powered by volunteers, and managed by a small, dedicated staff team. Each week around 120 regular volunteers assist us with our nursery operations, grounds maintenance and restoration activities. These exceptional volunteers are driven, collaborative, passionate and adaptable.
Our Trillion Trees Australia community nursery is GreenLife Industry Australia accredited and has built a strong reputation for delivering top quality seedlings since 1986. The nursery grows around 200,000 native seedlings each year for our own restoration projects, and for local governments, businesses and individuals seeking to restore the environment.
THE ROLE
The primary role of the Community Nursery Manager is to direct the full production process, inventory management and dispatch of native seedlings at the Trillion Trees Australia Community Nursery. Close collaboration with the ecological restoration team is required. The role involves developing the nursery's annual planting schedule, liaising with customers and preparing financial budgets. Guidance and training to staff and volunteers across the full range of nursery tasks is required to ensure the nursery continues to deliver the high-quality plant outputs for which Trillion Trees has a strong reputation, as well as maintaining compliance with its NIASA accreditation. This role is supported by the Assistant Nursery Manager and Volunteer Coordinator.
