Republic, Norwood is seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook to join its energetic kitchen team. The role involves preparing and cooking a range of modern pub-style meals, ensuring every dish is served to the highest standards of quality, taste, and presentation. The Cook will maintain a clean and organized kitchen, follow strict food safety and hygiene practices, and work closely with team to ensure smooth service. Previous experience in a similar role is preferred, along with a genuine passion for creating fresh and flavorful meals. Task & responsibilities

• Inspect food ingredients and supplies to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Monitor and control the temperatures of ovens, grills, and other cooking equipment.
• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes.
• Add seasonings and adjust flavors during the cooking process.
• Portion and plate food, then finish dishes with gravies, sauces, and garnishes.
• Store food safely in temperature-controlled storage areas.
• Prepare meals according to special dietary needs or restrictions.
• Assist with menu planning and estimate the quantity of ingredients required.
• Train and guide junior kitchen staff and apprentices when needed.

Qualification & experience

• Minimum of Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent work experience 
• Minimum 1 year of experience in related field.
• In-depth knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, and kitchen operations 
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
