To join our team at ID GROVER & SONS PTY LTD T/A PARANTHA KING & MEHKHANA THE INDIAN LOUNGE, we are seeking a passionate and skilled Cook who is committed to delivering authentic Indian cuisine and exceptional dining experiences. The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining food quality, kitchen efficiency, and customer satisfaction while supporting the continued growth of the business.

As a Cook at PARANTHA KING & MEHKHANA THE INDIAN LOUNGE, you will work within a dynamic and fast-paced kitchen environment focused on preparing high-quality Indian dishes using fresh ingredients and traditional cooking techniques. You will contribute to maintaining high standards of food preparation, hygiene, presentation, and kitchen operations while helping deliver exceptional service to customers. 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

•    Portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes

•    Preparing and cooking food

•    Storing food in temperature-controlled facilities

•    May plan menus and estimate food requirements

•    Preparation, production, stock control, wastage, portion control, and presentation

•    Being involved in the training, mentoring, and development of junior kitchen staff 

•    Examining foodstuffs to ensure quality

•    Managing and monitoring the fridges and food storage to ensure quality and temperature requirements are met.

•    Preparing meals tailored to specific dietary needs

•    May also be responsible for training apprentices and other kitchen staff

•    Serving food by portioning, plating, and applying sauces, gravies, or garnishes

•    Oversee stock levels, reorder supplies in a timely manner, and maintain accurate inventory records.

•    Adapt to customers' special requests, such as reducing salt or omitting spices.

•    Ensure smooth execution of opening and closing procedures for daily operational efficiency and safety.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

•    AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3)

•    1 year of relevant work experience required for this role

•    Enthusiastic, be willing to learn new food preparation techniques

•    Knowledge of food safety regulations

•    Strong attention to detail

•    Excellent communication skills

•    Able to follow recipes

•    Having an eye for detail and a passion for making quality products is a must
