About the Role

The Chief Executive Officer / General Manager – NDIS Operations will be responsible for planning, organising, directing, controlling and reviewing the overall operations of the organisation. The role will provide executive leadership across multi-site NDIS operations, including NSW-based facilities and interstate/regional service operations. The successful candidate will work closely with the directors and senior management team and will oversee major business functions, including regional operations, finance, compliance, human resources, service delivery, intake and administration, workforce planning, stakeholder engagement and business growth. This role requires a senior leader who can manage the organisation through managers and departmental leaders, rather than directly performing frontline service delivery functions.

As a General Manager, you will:

Key responsibilities:

  • Leading the overall strategic direction and day-to-day operations of a multi-site disability services organisation.
  • Planning, developing and implementing organisational policies, operational procedures, business standards and performance objectives.
  • Directing and reviewing service delivery operations across NSW-based facilities and interstate/regional locations.
  • Providing executive leadership to senior managers, regional managers, service managers, compliance staff, finance personnel, HR and operational teams.
  • Consulting with departmental managers and senior staff on operational methods, staffing requirements, service delivery systems, financial performance, compliance risks and business improvement.
  • Preparing, reviewing and overseeing budgets, forecasts, financial reports and operational performance reports.
  • Monitoring revenue, expenditure, staffing costs, regional performance, service quality and operational profitability.
  • Ensuring strong systems are maintained for regulatory compliance, quality assurance, participant safeguarding, incident management and operational risk control.
  • Reviewing operational, financial, workforce and compliance risks and implementing appropriate corrective actions.
  • Representing the organisation in meetings, negotiations, audits, business discussions and stakeholder engagements.
  • Liaising with participants, families, support coordinators, government bodies, auditors, external advisers, business partners and community stakeholders.
  • Leading workforce planning, senior staff recruitment, performance management and leadership development.
  • Setting KPIs, reporting requirements and management expectations for senior staff.
  • Supporting business growth, regional expansion, service development and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Reporting to the directors on business performance, operational risks, compliance matters, workforce capacity, growth opportunities and strategic priorities.

Requirements

  • Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents are encouraged to apply.
  • Minimum of a relevant Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification (e.g., Business Administration, Health Management, Community Services, Disability Services, Human Services, Social Sciences, Finance, Governance or a related field)
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of full-time, highly relevant executive or senior management experience
  • Significant senior management or executive experience in disability services, NDIS operations, aged care, health care, community services, human services or another regulated service environment.
  • Experience managing senior staff, departmental managers, regional managers, service managers or equivalent leadership teams.
  • Proven ability to lead complex operations across multiple sites, regions or business units.
  • Strong understanding of service delivery, participant/client care, quality systems, compliance obligations and operational risk management.
  • Experience preparing, reviewing or managing budgets, financial forecasts, operational reports and business performance data.
  • Strong commercial, operational and governance capability.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement policies, procedures, business standards and performance frameworks.
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in workforce planning, HR coordination, recruitment strategy and staff performance management.
  • High-level written and verbal communication skills.
