The Customer Service, Bookkeeping & Administration Assistant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day administration of a fast-moving surfboard manufacturing and operations business.
This role provides support across customer service, bookkeeping, accounts administration, freight coordination, production administration and general office operations. The position requires strong attention to detail, clear communication, practical problem-solving skills and the ability to take ownership of tasks in a busy team environment.
The role will initially commence on a casual basis, four days per week, with the opportunity to move into a permanent position as the role develops.
Key ResponsibilitiesYour day-to-day responsibilities may include:
Responding to customer enquiries by phone and email
Assisting customers with order updates, invoice questions and general support
Helping resolve customer issues in a professional and timely manner
Managing accounts receivable, including statements, invoice enquiries and payment follow-up
Entering accounts payable and supplier invoices
Processing and allocating payments accurately
Supporting daily bank reconciliations and general Xero administration
Assisting with bookkeeping tasks and maintaining accurate financial records
Booking freight for online and wholesale orders
Maintaining freight logs and assisting with freight-related enquiries
Supporting inventory, stocktake and basic production administration
Providing general administration support to finance, operations and sales
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Previous customer service experience
Bookkeeping experience
A bookkeeping, accounting or relevant business administration qualification
Experience using Xero
Strong attention to detail
Good written and verbal communication skills
Confidence speaking with customers and helping resolve issues
A practical, problem-solving mindset
The ability to manage competing priorities and follow tasks through
A positive attitude and willingness to help where needed
A strong sense of ownership and accountability
Previous experience in surfboard manufacturing, board production or a similar action sports/manufacturing environment would be highly regarded, but is not essential.
Experience in accounts administration, freight coordination, stock control, wholesale orders, online orders or manufacturing administration would also be beneficial.
