We are seeking an experienced Dairy Cattle Farm Operator to undertake responsibilities associated with the daily operations of the farm and the management of livestock.

Task & responsibilities

Working collaboratively with your team to achieve consistent compliance with guidelines and policy, responsibilities of this role will include:

• Operate milking plant and equipment and identify maintenance requirements.
• Read and record information, i.e. Milk vat temperatures and cow numbers.
• Drenching and vaccination of livestock.
• Preparation of ration and feeding to livestock.
• Operate computerises systems for recording and reporting purposes.
• Assist with machine repair.
• Assist with the Artificial Insemination process.
• Assist with fertiliser mix design.
• Work co-operatively as part of a team.
• Solve problems and make decisions within given guidelines.

Qualification & experience

The ideal candidate for this opportunity will have:

• An AQF Certificate II or III (or equivalent) OR a minimum of 1 year of recent and relevant work experience in lieu of the formal qualification.
• Experience in the various responsibilities listed above.
• An exceptional work ethic and ability to accomplish objectives effectively and within timeframes provided.
• Ability to problem solve.
• A strong focus on safety, compliance and awareness.
• Physically fit to undertake the responsibilities listed above.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with internal and external stakeholders.
