Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 per annum plus superannuation, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Airconditioning and Refrigeration Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing air conditioning and refrigeration systems in compliance with Australian standards and workplace safety requirements.

Task & responsibilities

• Maintain and service air conditioning systems, ensuring correct alignment, fit, and operational accuracy.
• Test, diagnose, and repair faults in systems, components, and equipment.
• Carry out preventative and responsive maintenance on air conditioning, refrigeration, and mechanical ventilation systems.
• Adjust system controls and mechanisms, reassemble equipment, and restore systems to required specifications.
• Service and repair a range of components, including compressors, motors, condensers, evaporators, switches, gauges, and copper piping for steam and gas systems.
• Work with a variety of models, including split systems, split ducted units, package-type air conditioning systems, and ventilation systems.
• Service and repair commercial refrigeration equipment, such as display cabinets, cold rooms, and freezer rooms.
• Perform pipe fitting, bolting, soldering, riveting, welding, and brazing to connect systems and verify correct alignment and sealing.
• Interpret drawings and specifications to establish job requirements and installation reference points.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and machinery to ensure reliable and safe operation.

Qualification & experience

• Minimum 2 years experience in related position
• Qualificaitons in related field desirable
• Strong technical knowledge of refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
• Ability to diagnose faults and apply effective repair solutions.
• Skilled in using specialised tools and equipment for installation and repair.
• Commitment to safety and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in varied environments.
