Carpenter

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Carpenter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials. The role involves working from technical drawings and specifications to ensure precise measurement, cutting, and assembly. Projects may include residential, commercial, and renovation work.

Task & responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings to determine project layout, dimensions, and required materials.
• Remove and replace damaged or defective structural parts using appropriate hand tools.
• Construct or repair doors, and other interior wood structures using carpentry tools and woodworking machinery.
• Measure and mark materials accurately for cutting using rulers, pencils, chalk, or marking gauges.
• Inspect ceilings, tiles, wall coverings, siding, glass, and wood elements to identify damage or areas needing repair.
• Install fixtures and structural components such as windows, frames, and trim using both hand and power tools.
• Follow safety protocols to maintain a clean, hazard-free work environment.
• Assemble and secure materials to build structural frames or supports using fasteners such as screws, nails, dowels, or adhesives.

Qualification & experience

• Certificate III and IV in Carpentry, including a minimum of two years of on-the-job training, 
• A Diploma of Building and Construction is highly regarded
• Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in a carpentry role
• Possession of a valid Victorian driver’s licence
