We are seeking an experienced and passionate Cook to join our team. The Cook will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality dishes while ensuring consistency, hygiene, and food safety standards.

Task & responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a wide range of dishes, ensuring consistency and flavour.
• Season, portion, and present food attractively with sauces, garnishes, and accompaniments.
• Check and monitor the quality and freshness of food items before use.
• Operate and regulate ovens, grills, and other kitchen equipment to required temperatures.
• Store ingredients and prepared meals safely in temperature-controlled facilities.
• Adapt food preparation to meet special dietary needs and customer requests.
• Assist in planning menus and estimating food and ingredient requirements.
• Support the training and guidance of apprentices and other kitchen staff.

Qualification & experience

• Minimum 1 year of proven experience as a Cook, preferably within an Italian cuisine setting.
• Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery or equivalent training.
• Solid knowledge of traditional Italian cooking techniques, recipes, and ingredients.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment, managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene standards, and kitchen regulations.
• Competence in portion control, presentation, and maintaining consistency of dishes.
• Capability to plan menus, estimate food requirements, and manage stock levels.
• Experience in adapting dishes to meet dietary needs and special requests.
