Task & responsibilities

• Examine foodstuffs to ensure quality and freshness
• Regulate temperatures of ovens, grills, and other cooking equipment
• Prepare and cook food using various methods and techniques
• Portion food, place it on plates, and add gravies, sauces, and garnishes
• Store food in temperature-controlled facilities to maintain safety and quality
• Prepare food to meet special dietary requirements (e.g., allergies, religious needs)
• Plan menus and estimate food requirements (as needed)
• Train and supervise other kitchen staff and apprentices (as needed)

Qualification & experience

• Minimum of Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent work experience
• Minimum 1 year of experience in related field.
• In-depth knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, and kitchen operations
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
