Task & responsibilities
CHEF – Responsibilities:
- Plan, develop, and execute seasonal menus aligned with the restaurant’s vision
- Supervise and lead kitchen staff to ensure consistency and quality in food production
- Monitor food presentation and portion control to ensure high standards
- Manage food costs, inventory, and supplier orders
- Ensure compliance with food hygiene, OH&S, and HACCP regulations
- Train, mentor, and evaluate kitchen team members
- Manage kitchen rosters and coordinate workflow during peak service hours
- Innovate and introduce new dishes while preserving traditional Greek flavours
COOK – Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook menu items as directed by the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of kitchen work areas and equipment
- Accurately follow recipes and plating instructions
- Monitor stock rotation and minimize food waste
- Assist with prep work and food storage in accordance with health guidelines
- Collaborate with kitchen team during service to meet time and quality expectations
- Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and allergen procedures
Qualification & experience
CHEF – Skills & Qualifications Required:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Chef role in a busy commercial kitchen
- Certificate IV cookery + Diploma in Kitchen Management or equivalent qualification
- Proven leadership skills and ability to manage kitchen teams
- Strong understanding of food safety, cost control, and commercial kitchen operations
- Creative flair in Mediterranean and Greek cuisine
- Excellent planning, communication, and time management abilities
COOK – Skills & Qualifications Required:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a commercial kitchen
- Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
- Strong practical cooking skills, knife handling, and ingredient knowledge
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment
- Solid understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
- Reliable, punctual, and flexible with shifts including nights and weekends
