Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Diesel Fitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work in a team and by themselves. As a Diesel Fitter, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and overhauling all components of assets in our fleet ranging from dozers, prime movers, excavators and b-double tippers.  

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance. 

• Diagnose issues using diagnostic tools and manual inspection techniques.

• Perform repairs and replacements of faulty parts.

• Overhaul and rebuild heavy vehicle and earthmoving components.

• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.

• Be able to work in a workshop or in the field.

• Adhere to safety protocols and procedures at all times.

• Collaborate with team members and follow instructions.

• Self-motivated and driven.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Diesel Fitter or similar role.

• Technical certification or diploma in diesel mechanics, automotive technology, or a related field.

• Strong understanding of diesel engine systems and components.

• Have earthmoving and road transport experience.

• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.

• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
