Madeleine Restaurant is seeking a skilled and passionate Head-Chef to lead our dynamic team in Highgate, WA.
This is a full-time, ongoing position, ideal for a candidate with strong knowledge of French cuisine and at least 3 years as a head chef in a fine dining or bistro-style kitchen.
The position requires availability across the following times:
· Wednesday to Sunday (mornings, afternoons, evenings)

Task & responsibilities
- Lead daily kitchen operations with consistency and excellence
- Design and execute seasonal French-inspired menus
- Supervise, train, and schedule kitchen staff
- Monitor food quality, portioning, and presentation
- Manage supplier relations, ordering, and inventory control
- Oversee food safety and kitchen hygiene compliance
- Maintain kitchen cost controls and budget targets
- Collaborate with the front-of-house for seamless service
Qualification & experience
- Relevant qualification
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a senior kitchen role, preferably as Head Chef or Sous-Chef
- Strong knowledge of French cuisine and classic culinary techniques
- Proven leadership and team development skills
- Strong understanding of kitchen cost control and operations
- High standards of food presentation and consistency
- Understanding of hygiene and food safety standards (Food Safety Certificate preferred)
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
