Production Quality Engineer

The Production Quality Engineer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimising production processes and quality systems to enhance operational efficiency and product quality. This role plays a critical part in ensuring manufacturing targets are met while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness.

Working closely with cross-functional teams, the Production Quality Engineer will drive continuous improvement initiatives, troubleshoot production issues, and implement process enhancements to increase efficiency and reduce waste. Strong problem-solving skills, self-motivation, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively are essential for success in this role.

Additionally, the Production Quality Engineer will support new product introductions, ensure compliance with industry standards, and contribute to the overall operational excellence of the manufacturing division. This role is pivotal in driving production uptime, achieving project targets, and maintaining a culture of continuous improvement.

Task & responsibilities

• Identify and design production monitoring systems to enhance efficiency and performance tracking.
• Develop and implement process improvements to enhance safety, quality, and productivity in manufacturing operations.
• Assist with shop floor layout optimization and production workflow design.
• Design fixtures, tooling, and jigs to streamline assembly tasks and improve precision.
• Generate and maintain production documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
• Investigate and resolve production and process issues, providing technical support and guidance to manufacturing teams.
• Introduce new technologies and software to enhance manufacturing processes and automation.
• Undertake special projects aimed at improving production efficiency, reducing waste, and optimizing costs.

Qualification & experience

• Tertiary qualifications in engineering and/or manufacturing, or similar field
• High level of competence with MS Office packages (especially excel)
• Experience in Quality systems
• Experience in manufacturing environments
• Strong work ethic, positive team attitude and able to work in a fast-paced environment
