Welder (First Class)

Spartan Equipments Australia Pty. Ltd., trading as Spartan Quip, is seeking a qualified and experienced Welder to join our growing production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing high-quality welding and fabrication tasks on steel components and assemblies used in the manufacture of trailers and related equipment.

Task & responsibilities

• Interpret and work from technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to plan and execute layouts.
• Perform MIG and TIG welding on a variety of steel components, ensuring structural integrity and compliance with quality standards.
• Fabricate, assemble, and repair trailer frames, bodies, and related structural parts.
• Cut, grind, and shape metal components using thermal cutting equipment, grinders, and other hand/power tools as required.
• Finish and repair welds by cleaning, polishing, and grinding to meet quality standards.
• Use and maintain welding machinery, power tools, and specialised equipment.
• Inspect welds, surfaces, and completed assemblies to identify defects and ensure compliance.
• Apply safe work practices, including the correct use of PPE and adherence to workplace health and safety regulations.
• Complete welding tasks in flat, vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions as required.

Qualification & experience

• Relevant qualification with 2 years related work experience or minimum 3–5 years’ relevant industry experience in lieu of qualification 

• Proficiency in MIG/TIG welding and structural steel fabrication.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
