We are hiring a DevOps Engineer to join our Cloud Operations team in Alexandria. The role designs, builds and operates the automation, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines and container platforms that underpin our cloud-based customer solutions.
This is a permanent full-time, on-site role (with reasonable flexibility) reporting to the Head of Cloud Operations. You will work hands-on across AWS, VMware vSphere and (where applicable) Azure and Google Cloud environments, partnering with development, operations, security and customer-facing teams.
What you will do
• Design, build and maintain automated infrastructure provisioning using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation and Pulumi
• Build and operate CI/CD pipelines for cloud applications and infrastructure changes, including pipeline design, release management and deployment automation
• Design, deploy and operate containerised applications using Docker, Kubernetes and Helm
• Author, test and maintain shell, Bash and Python automation for provisioning, deployment and operational tasks
• Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting and log aggregation using Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager, Kibana, Datadog and AWS CloudWatch
• Embed cloud security, IAM and compliance controls into infrastructure code and deployment pipelines
• Configure and support networking integration, including DNS-based load balancing and load balancing with TLS termination
• Promote collaboration between development and operations teams through shared tooling, metrics and release practices
• Work in an Agile way and contribute to continuous improvement of pipelines, automation and operational practices
What we are looking for:
• Demonstrated experience designing and operating infrastructure-as-code with Terraform, CloudFormation or Pulumi
• Demonstrated experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines for cloud applications and infrastructure
• Practical experience with Docker, Kubernetes and Helm in production environments
• Strong scripting and automation in Linux, shell, Bash and Python
• Experience with AWS (and ideally Azure, Google Cloud or VMware vSphere)
• Working knowledge of observability and monitoring tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, CloudWatch or similar)
• Experience with cloud security, IAM and system hardening practices
• Comfortable with Git version control and code-review practice
• A bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, engineering or a comparable discipline. Relevant industry certifications, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, are highly regarded
• Strong analytical mindset, ability to work independently and collaboratively, and very good English language skills
