The Opportunity
Our client is a values-led education organisation operating across Queensland and northern NSW. With a network of schools and early childhood services, the organisation is at a significant point in its development, undertaking a structural transformation that will see it establish as a standalone incorporated entity over the coming years.
In preparation for that transition, the organisation is investing in its governance capability and has created this senior leadership role to lead its enterprise-wide approach to digital, data, and information governance. This is a strategic appointment that will be central to ensuring the organisation has the maturity, rigour, and accountability structures required to operate effectively as it grows and evolves.

About the Role
The Director - Digital, Data & Information Governance is a newly established function within the organisation's corporate services leadership team. Reporting to a Deputy Executive Director, the role carries broad accountability for how information, data, and digital technologies are governed, used, and trusted across the organisation.
This is not an ICT operations role. The Director will work collaboratively with ICT, but the focus of this position is governance. This role ensures they are governed well, that data is trustworthy, that risks are understood and managed, and that the organisation's digital practices meet the standards expected of a mature, incorporated entity.

The Director will have accountability across six functional domains:
  • Data & Information Governance. Establishing data as a core organisational asset, with clear frameworks for ownership, stewardship, quality, and standards across the organisation.
  • Information Privacy & Digital Risk. Acting as the organisation's Information Privacy Officer and leading enterprise-wide digital risk management, encompassing privacy compliance, AI-related risk, and regulatory exposure.
  • AI & Emerging Technology Governance. Developing the organisation's AI strategy and ethical governance framework, and providing oversight of the responsible adoption of emerging technologies.
  • Enterprise Systems & Architecture. Governing how enterprise systems operate as an integrated ecosystem, with a focus on interoperability, data integrity, and system-wide performance visibility.
  • Records & Information Management. Establishing records management systems and ensuring compliance with legislative and regulatory recordkeeping obligations.
  • Digital & Data Capability. Building digital and data literacy across the organisation to ensure staff can use systems, data, and emerging technologies effectively, confidently, and responsibly.
About the Organisation
Our client is a mission-driven organisation with a strong identity rooted in their values. It operates across a geographically dispersed network and supports a broad range of educational and care services. The organisation places a high value on collaboration, professional excellence, and service to its communities.
The successful candidate will be expected to work in genuine alignment with the organisation's Christian ethos. Participation in staff devotions and a demonstrated understanding of and respect for the values that underpin faith-based education will be important to success in this role.
