Director & Senior Manager – AI Risk & Controls (Contract) 📍 Melbourne VIC | Contract to end 2026
The Opportunity We are currently supporting a major organisation undertaking a large-scale internal AI transformation program and require two experienced risk professionals to join on contract.
This is a brand-new initiative being built from the ground up, with no existing frameworks in place — offering a unique opportunity to shape how risk and controls are designed and embedded within an emerging AI environment.
The Roles
- Director – AI Risk & Controls
- Senior Manager – AI Risk & Controls
Both roles will play a key part in establishing a robust risk and governance framework to support the organisation’s Responsible AI agenda.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement risk, governance and controls frameworks for AI initiatives
- Assess existing environments and identify control gaps
- Develop and embed best practice assurance and governance processes
- Partner with senior stakeholders across the business to support program delivery
- Provide practical, enterprise-level risk guidance in a greenfield environment
About You We are seeking professionals with a strong
generalist risk background, rather than technical or cyber specialists.
You will bring:
- Experience in Risk, Governance, Internal Audit or Controls Assurance
- A track record of building or uplifting frameworks, ideally in complex organisations
- The ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, evolving environments
- An interest in, or exposure to, AI or emerging technology risk
- Experience within large corporate or enterprise settings
Additional Information
- Contract running through to end of 2026

- Flexible working model, with expectation of in-office collaboration a few days per week
