We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Worker to provide high-quality care and support to individuals with disabilities. The successful candidate will assist clients in achieving greater independence, enhancing their quality of life, and participating actively in their community.

Task & responsibilities

• Assists clients with daily hygiene tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting.
• Help clients with movement and transportation including using mobility aids and ensuring safe mobility around their home or community.
• Prepare and serve meals according to the client's dietary needs and assist with feeding if needed.
• Administer prescribed medications or remind clients to take their medications as scheduled.
• Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry and organizing to maintain a safe and clean living environment
• Observe and report any changes in the client's physical or emotional condition to supervisor or healthcare professionals.
• Accompany clients to medical appointments shopping trips or social outings.
• Work collaboratively with our team, other health professionals, and support coordinators.
• Uphold participant rights, privacy, and choice at all times.
• Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes.

Qualification & experience

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a disability support worker. 
• Minimum Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent qualification. 
• Valid First Aid and CPR certification. National Police Check and Working With Children Check (if required by the state). 
• Manual handling and mobility assistance training.
• NDIS Worker Screening
• WWC Check
• First Aid and CPR
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• NDIS Modules (Or willing to obtain)
• Current valid working rights in Australia
