The Opportunity

We are seeking an outcome driven Drafting Officer to work together with our Supervisors in finding solutions for our customer’s lifting needs and make sure their projects are completed in an economic, safe and time efficient manner. The preparation of Lift Studies will be the main job of the Drafting Officer, which are necessary to gain internal and external approval for the conduction of the lift.

Key Responsibilities

• Collection of information about the lift project from Supervisor, customer or third parties

• Inspect and analyse provided drawings and information

• Review and validate the Supervisor’s crane and configuration choice for the project, confirming the crane’s lifting capabilities, site restrains, economic efficiency, etc.

• Creation of a Lift Plan, including all necessary information for the crane operator to execute the lift and documentation of the required lifting gear with details of how to set it up

• Double checking of lift plans to ensure correctness

• Creation and adjustment of templates in AutoCAD, Word and Excel

Skills and Qualifications

• Familiarity with AutoCAD, including the creation and adjustment of dynamic blocks

• Advanced diploma, diploma, or higher qualification in the relevant field

• At least 1 year of relevant work experience

• Advanced skills with Microsoft Office, especially Excel

• Good mathematical skills

• Knowledge of the crane industry preferred

• Ability to liaise with clients in a professional manner

• Good organisational, computer and communication skills

• Strong work ethic with the ability to work as part of a team
