Early Childhood Teacher | Flexible Position | Norman Park

  • Permanent 5 Days per week | Above-Award Pay + 15% WRP

We are open to discussing flexibility around room placement, set working days, and salary based on experience for the right candidate.

About the Role
Are you an educator who believes that emotional intelligence is the foundation of all learning? At Okeedokee, we are seeking a dedicated Early Childhood Teacher to lead our Government-Approved Kindergarten Program or one of our four younger age rooms, ranging from babies through to Senior Kindy.

We are looking for a teacher who wants to "own" their classroom and join a team that values connection over checklists. This year marks our fourth year partnering with The Resilience Project, a program we highly value for its incredible impact on our children, staff, and the wider community.

Why Join the Okeedokee Team?

  • Uplifting Employment Experience: Join the Okeedokee community and become part of a truly diverse team of educators from around the world. We’re proud of our strong, supportive culture where relationships matter, and many of our team members have been with us for 5–10+ years and are still working with us today.

  • The Resilience Project (TRP): Join a centre where Gratitude, Empathy, and Mindfulness (GEM) are part of the DNA. No prior experience with TRP? No problem! We provide full training and support to help you feel confident and inspired to lead this fantastic initiative.

  • Above-Award Remuneration: We recognise your professional status. You will receive the full 15% Worker Retention Payment uplift, with additional salary negotiation available based on your experience.

  • 4 Hours Protected Kindy Room Programming: We believe high-quality documentation takes time. We provide 4 hours of guaranteed, off-the-floor programming time each week so you can focus on your pedagogy and planning without interruption.

  • Stability & Consistency: This is a permanent, 5-day-a-week role. We value consistency for our children and offer a supportive environment where your contributions are truly valued. We are open to discussing flexibility around room placement, set working days, and salary based on experience for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery of either our Kindergarten Program (aligned with the QLD Kindergarten Learning Guideline (QKLG), EYLF and NQS) or one of our younger age group rooms (aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and NQS), depending on your preference, experience and our centre needs.

  • Facilitate The Resilience Project (with our full support), fostering a culture of wellbeing and emotional resilience.

  • Build strong, positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues, fostering open communication and collaboration.

  • Maintain a well-organised classroom, ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and licensing regulations.

  • Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to a collaborative learning community.

About You:

  • Holds a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education (or ACECQA-approved equivalent).

  • Teaching experience in early childhood education and/or current QLD Teacher Registration (QCT)

  • Holds a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) as required for this role.

  • Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma & Anaphylaxis certification

  • Holds National Child Safety Training (or able to complete before commencement).

  • A genuine interest in mental health and wellbeing (we'll teach you the rest!).

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Must hold work rights to work in Australia.

Ready to Join a Purpose-Led Team? If you are an inspiring educator who wants to make a real difference, we would love to meet you.

To Apply: Please submit your resume and a cover letter. We'd love to hear what excites you most about teaching in Early Years!
