The Role
Reporting to the Industrial Survey lead you will manage and perform specialist engineering surveying tasks, including:

• Dimensional control surveys for steel fabrication projects (bridges, materials handling, and large steel structures). 

• Preventative maintenance and monitoring surveys at industrial facilities.

• High-precision surveying, including machine alignment, machining QA, and installation & commissioning support.

• Management of 3D data capture, processing and 3D modelling.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake and deliver dimensional control surveys for steel fabrication projects.

• Conduct routine preventative maintenance surveys, monitoring structural shifts, ground movements and industrial equipment.

• Undertake high precision alignment surveys for machines, production lines, and industrial machinery.

• Manage field data collection using Total Stations, Laser Scanners, Laser Trackers, and more. 

• Manage office data reductions and processing using survey, metrology & 3D modelling software.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with clients, engineers, fabricators, and maintenance teams.

• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards and safety protocols.

About You

• Minimum 5+ years’ experience as an Engineering Surveyor, preferably with experience in steel fabrication, metrology or survey within an industrial setting.

• Proficiency with Total Stations, Laser Scanners, Metrology instruments.

• Demonstrated experience in liaison and delivery within multidisciplinary projects (engineers, project managers, fabricators, etc).

• Strong data processing and documentation skills within the AutoDesk, Leica Cyclone and 12d environments.

• Degree or diploma in Surveying, Spatial Science or similar. 

• Based in Newcastle region (local candidates only).

• Excellent organisational and communication skills.

• Australian driver’s licence and construction white card.
