The Role
Working closely with the Plant EHS Manager, you will actively support and contribute to site EHS performance, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What You'll Be Doing
Environment & Sustainability
Support the EHS Manager in the implementation and maintenance of environmental management systems (ISO 14001).
Assist with environmental reporting, data tracking, and trend analysis (energy, waste, water, emissions).
Coordinate waste management activities, including tracking, segregation, and contractor engagement.
Conduct environmental inspections and ensure compliance with local and national regulations.
Support sustainability initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
Health & Safety
Contribute to day-to-day safety management and support site compliance with safety legislation and standards (e.g., ISO 45001).
Conduct risk assessments, JHAs, inspections, and workplace audits.
Participate in incident investigations and assist in developing corrective and preventative actions.
Support training delivery, toolbox talks, and EHS communication initiatives.
Assist with monitoring contractor safety and ensuring safe work permits are effectively managed.
Maintain accurate EHS records, documentation, and reporting.
Security
Support implementation and monitoring of site security procedures and access control processes.
Conduct routine security inspections and assist in coordinating emergency response procedures.
Liaise with contractors, security providers, and internal stakeholders to maintain a secure workplace.
Culture, Engagement & Continuous Improvement
Be a visible presence on the floor, support and promote best practices and engaging with employees.
Support EHS campaigns, events, and improvement programs.
Contribute to cross-functional problem-solving initiatives with a focus on EHS excellence.
You will bring:
Experience in an EHS-related role within manufacturing, industrial operations, or similar environment.
Strong understanding of health, safety, and/or environmental regulations.
Competence in risk assessments, incident investigation, and safety systems.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
Solid administrative and data-management capability, including MS Office suite.
Ideally, you will also have:
Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or similar field.
Experience with ISO management systems (14001, 45001, 50001).
Experience supporting emergency response or security operations.
