About the role

Joining the Lucas Civil Group as an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in the success of this leading construction company. As a fulltime Estimator based in Penrith, NSW, you will be responsible for providing accurate and competitive estimates to support the company's bidding process for a variety of civil engineering and infrastructure projects.

What you'll be doing

1. Liaising with project managers and site teams to gather detailed information on project requirements

2. Conducting thorough material and labour cost analyses to develop comprehensive estimates

3. Preparing tender submissions, including quantity take-offs, pricing schedules, and risk assessments

4. Identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements

5. Collaborating with the estimating team to ensure consistent and reliable estimating practices

6. Providing support and advice to the wider business on estimating and tendering matters

What we're looking for

1. Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction or civil engineering industry, preferably within a similar role

2. Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications

3. Excellent attention to detail and the capacity to work under tight deadlines

4. Proficiency in the use of estimating software and construction industry databases

5. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
