Evolution Precast is a leading precast concrete manufacturer delivering major infrastructure, commercial, industrial, and construction projects across NSW, VIC, & QLD. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, we are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our commercial team in Newcastle.

This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented and commercially minded estimator who enjoys working closely with operations, engineering, and project teams to deliver accurate and competitive project pricing.

About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Estimator, the Estimator will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for precast concrete projects across multiple sectors.

The role will involve reviewing drawings and specifications, performing quantity take-offs, obtaining supplier pricing, assessing production methodologies, and working closely with operational teams to ensure estimates reflect actual production capability and project delivery requirements.

You will play a key role in supporting tender strategy, project planning, and business growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for precast concrete projects

• Review project drawings, specifications, and tender documentation

• Complete quantity take-offs and material calculations

• Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor pricing

• Work closely with operations and production teams to assess manufacturing methodologies and project risks

• Assist in developing pricing strategies and tender clarifications

• Maintain estimating databases, pricing schedules, and cost benchmarks

• Support handover of awarded projects to project delivery teams

• Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating systems and processes

About You

You are a motivated and commercially aware estimator with strong technical understanding and attention to detail. You thrive in fast-paced project environments and can confidently manage multiple tenders and deadlines.

You have strong communication skills and enjoy collaborating with operational and project teams to develop practical and competitive solutions.

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in estimating within construction, precast, manufacturing, or related industries

• Ability to interpret engineering and construction drawings and specifications

• Strong numerical, analytical, and commercial skills

• Experience with quantity take-offs, pricing, and tender preparation

• Strong Microsoft Excel and estimating software capability

• Excellent organisational and time management skills

• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments

• Experience in precast concrete or structural construction highly regarded
