Seeking an experienced Panel Beater skilled in sheet metal shaping and restoration techniques to join a well-equipped workshop specialising in classic vehicle projects. This is a full-time permanent position offering the chance to work on heritage vehicles within a supportive and professional environment.
About the Role
- Qualifications: Trade qualifications OR solid proven capability in panel beating and metal fabrication in the industry.
- Compensation: Hourly rate range from $45 to $60.
- Location: South East Melbourne.
Key Responsibilities
- Precision shaping and forming of sheet metal components for detailed panel repairs.
- Light fabrication tasks using specialised metalworking equipment including shaping wheels and hand tools.
- Hands-on restoration work on classic 4WD vehicles and similar models.
- Work collaboratively with a skilled trades team to achieve high-quality restoration results.

What We Require
- Recognised trade qualifications OR proven and demonstrated experience in panel beating and sheet metal work.
- Strong experience in panel beating with a focus on metal shaping (not just part replacement).
- Ability to create compound curves and perform detailed sheet metal work using specialised shaping tools such as manual metal forming equipment.
- MIG and/or TIG welding capability (formal certification not essential).
- Experience with light fabrication (1mm–1.6mm materials typical).
- Ability to use workshop machinery such as English wheel, shrinker/stretcher, and folders.
- Attention to detail in restoration accuracy and finish quality.
- Permanent Residency status or equivalent work authorisation.
