About the Role

As a Fibre Network Designer, you will support the planning and design of fibre optic networks across a range of projects. This role is well suited to someone with a solid technical foundation and a strong interest in telecommunications, who is looking to further develop their skills in fibre network design and deployment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and layout fibre optic networks to support business and customer requirements.

• Assist senior designers in preparing detailed network designs, schematics, and plans using Visio, GIS, and related design tools.

• Maintain accurate project documentation, including design plans, technical reports, and cost estimates.

• Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices.

• Prepare scopes of work for the network deployment phase and support the successful implementation of design plans.

• Contribute to the review and improvement of network design processes and documentation standards.

Skills and Experience

• Understanding of fibre optic technologies, network architecture, and design principles.

• Experience using design software such as Visio, GIS, or similar tools.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyse technical challenges.

• Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

• A proactive attitude, strong attention to detail, and willingness to learn.

• Interest in developing a long-term career in telecommunications network design.

Desirable

• Exposure to fibre network deployment, scoping, or as-built documentation.

• Familiarity with telecommunications standards and field design practices.

• Experience working in a telecommunications, utilities, or infrastructure environment.
