Client is seeking a candidate with experience in government finance. An active profile in SAP will be well regarded.

Whilst this preference is for a candidate based in Edinburgh, S.A, there may be some flexibility for interstate candidates (i.e. Canberra based).

Duties involve:

• Mange, monitor and report on financial operations activities within Defence
• Provide advice relating to financial administration, interpret legislation and policy and exercise financial delegations
• Facilitate the development of processes to support operations in a changing environment
• Apply knowledge and experience in accounting to undertake objective, systematic financial analysis and can draw accurate conclusions based on evidence
• Resolve problems using expertise, taking the initiative to identify alternative courses of action.

Ability to raise, maintain and pay purchase orders through ERP, or experience with similar systems.

This includes:

1. Monitoring finances including:

• Maintenance of financial broadsheets
• Coordination of financial discussions
• Support of data input into budget estimate and review packs

2. Management financial administrative tasks including:

• Rephasing of project and product stale commitments
• Management of Group Operating Budget
• Preparation of tasking responses in relation to finance

3. Financial administrative assistance including:

• Procurement assistance in relation to ERP
• Assistance with CMS acquittals/credit card transactions etc.
