The opportunity

We are seeking a talented Financial Analyst/Project Cost Controller to join our Boeing Defence Australia Finance team which. This newly created role, which complements our finance team of 150 employees, consists of project cost control management and reporting to support projects across the Currawong Battlespace Communications System Portfolio. This role offers the opportunity to challenge yourself in a fast-paced environment with plenty of changes that keep the work interesting and the opportunity for exposure to the broader Boeing enterprise.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining project budgets and forecasts while fostering relationships with cost account managers.
  • Analysis of cost and schedule performance producing variance analysis, identifying recommendations on impacts & actions to cost account managers and commercial leads.
  • Support the month end process with the required journals and reconciliations, including all required reporting.
  • Collaborate as part of a larger team and openly share information.
  • Contribute to ongoing process improvement.
  • Stakeholder management including liaising with cost account managers and the finance team.

Experience/Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business or commerce; or equivalent experience in the workforce; Studying toward CA/CPA also desirable.
  • Relevant experience in management accounting or cost control role.
  • Competent user with intermediate Microsoft Excel skills and other Microsoft Office applications as well as experience with ERP Systems.
  • Ability to adapt to different situations and ask for help with competing priorities.
  • Proactive approach to day to day tasking.
  • Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders.
